Thank you for stopping by! Awfully Awesome 80's is your 24/7 listener-supported internet radio guide to the music of the 80's through the early 90's. We play lost and classic top 40 hits, but we also place a heavy emphasis on the minor charters and non-charters...or as we call them, bottom 45's. Special Mixcloud shows will be announced as time permits. If you're a VIP member and have a general suggestion or a song request, then please use our chat widget in the lower right corner or the manual contact form below. Your request will be queued for play at a minimum of 60 minutes if it is already in the station's inventory; otherwise, I will process your request as soon as I can. Please read the "Membership Special" post below if you're interested in submitting multiple song requests every day (18 a week plus occasional theme blocks and your own idea for a special show); I can only serve those who are willing to contribute, since the costs to bring you a high-quality stream are astronomical these days. Please note that the membership contribution is ONE-TIME ONLY AND ISN'T REQUIRED EVERY MONTH.

If you appreciate what we do, then please make use of our PayPal buttons on the site. You can donate a one-time amount or choose from 10 monthly subscription amounts; the donations will help enhance our programming and keep us on Live365. Yes, Awfully Awesome 80's is legitimate and pays artist royalties!

HIATUS ANNOUNCEMENT

Due to a lack of financial support and my own family's financial situation, I will need to shut down Awfully Awesome Eighties for the next few months, and possibly permanently. You can tune in until 5 PM Eastern on July 20th. The shutdown applies to both the original and the new stream, so please don't ask me to revert back to the original stream.

It costs $250.00 to $300.00 a month to bring a high-quality stream to you (it would have been at least 300 by the end of the year). I stressed multiple times that this is a listener-supported station, and I had a very reasonable VIP membership special where I was willing to work a lot harder when compared to the nominal fee. It became nothing but the sound of crickets. I can't continue like this, especially when a decent number of my audience are ripping from my station (yes, I know who you are). 10 or so years ago when the Small Webcasters Agreement was still in place, I wouldn't have cared as much, but paying $300.00 a month while serving leechers and not getting any significant support? That's utter stupidity on my part.

If you want Awfully Awesome Eighties to return in 2027, then some changes will need to occur from you. Just 10 to 15 of you donating $30.00 a month would take care of expenses, and you would get to make a pretty good number of requests every month (more than most stations would be willing to do)! I've been doing this for 15 years, strictly because I love the oldies and the forgotten tracks. What would I be gaining? Obviously, it wouldn't be riches, but hopefully a loyal legion of followers who realize how stale radio has become.

So, it's up to you. If I'm supposedly "one of the best/no one does what you do" station types, then prove it! Thank you to those of you who did show your support; I know you're disappointed, but no one could be sadder than me. I would rather have a simpler world, one that is clear of advanced technology that has spoiled people to the point where they expect everything on a silver platter for next to nothing.
