He requested it and he occasionally promotes my station in his group, so it's the least I can do; I also figured it would be a good time to throw in the group's 2 best-known U.S. tracks.

NEW ADDS FOR 4/12
Another fine batch of new adds comes your way on Awfully Awesome 80's later on this morning! Some of these are requests and some come from my cloudy, overnight recollections of watching MTV in the early days:
Top 40 Hits:
1. Climie Fisher - Love Changes(Everything) - '88
2. Laura Branigan - Power Of Love - '87
3. Nancy Martinez - For Tonight - '86
4. Christine McVie - Got A Hold On Me - '84
5. Kansas - Play The Game Tonight - '82
6. Kansas - All I Wanted - '86
7. Robert Ellis Orrall With Carlene Carter - I Couldn't Say No - '83
8. Living Colour - Glamour Boys - '89
9. Triumph - Somebody's Out There - '86
10. Cyndi Lauper - Change Of Heart - '86
11. Belinda Carlisle - Leave A Light On - '89
Bottom 45's:
12. Duke Jupiter - I'll Drink To You - '82
13. Triumph - Say Goodbye - '82
14. Spoons - Bridges Over Borders - '86
15. Lulu Temple - Don't Say No - '83
16. Steve Winwood - Talking Back To The Night - '88 Remix
17. Tracey Ullman - Break-A-Way - '84
18. Player - If Looks Could Kill - '82
If you're a first-time listener, then be aware that what AA80's strives to do is to bring back what an hour of MTV used to be like: dominated by top 40 hits and recurrents with only a couple of "curves" thrown in. I'll never be as successful as 80's MTV was because they had all kinds of corporate backing. I'm not out to rule the world anyways; I'm fine with a small, loyal audience who keeps the station going and who knows that the 80's had a LOT more to offer than just "Don't Stop Believin'" and "Money For Nothing." Unlike MTV, you can count on my never branching out to reality/talk shows and you will get a lot longer than 2 to 4 weeks to become familiar with some of the "curves"/bottom 45's that I play(and hopefully you will dig some of them!).
Stop by and say hi and take a listen at http://awfullyawesomeeighties.com! I'm always willing to chat; my beta tape collection with episodes of "That's Incredible!" can wait...

I know some of you are saying "Who are Precious Metal, Wax and New Frontier?" Awfully Awesome 80's not only spins the decade's hits and misses, but its ultimate goal is to present a nearly thorough "audio history of MTV, VH-1, BET, etc." This means giving some love to those artists that never got beyond breakout rotation(in other words, a 3 AM spin!). A lot of you would say that some of those artists deserved their fate, but if you stuck around long enough, you would find a few gems in the rubble!
Tune into the station at http://awfullyawesomeeighties.com, join our Facebook group, and don't be afraid to submit a challenging request! Coming up next week will be forgotten tunes from Cruzados, I Am Siam, Gamma, Hugh Cornwell, etc. and of course more of the classic hits!
