OUR NEXT TWO SPINOFF SHOWS ARE COMING IN JANUARY!

The next two spinoff shows for Awfully Awesome 80's will be coming your way in January! "One Step Beyond" is scheduled for Saturday the 7th from 8 to 10 PM eastern; this will be 2 hours of 80's artists who recorded in the 90's with varying results. "150 Minutes" is scheduled for Saturday the 21st from 8 to 10:30 PM eastern; as you may have guessed, this will be 2 1/2 hours of 80's new wave, post-modern and alternative with a dash of early 90's.

The lineup for "One Step Beyond" is all set as around 2/3 of it consists of requests from one of the VIP members of AA80's. But here is your chance to help put together the initial edition of "150 Minutes!" If you were/are a big fan of new wave/post-modern/alternative and watched that MTV late-night Sunday show religiously like I did, then feel free to make some suggestions here through the chat room or contact form at http://awfullyawesomeeighties.com! As some of you already know, "Not only am I the president, but I am also a member..." Oh sorry, had a TV flashback there. Seriously, as some of you know, I also run a lil' ol' internet radio station called Awfully Awesome 80's that is striving to bring back what you heard during all of those glory days of MTV, no matter how overplayed, lightly played, mainstream, underground, ear-bleeding, sappy/sweet, loved, or hated the song may have been!

Here is your opportunity to submit a list of 50 recommendations of 80's songs that you feel that AA80's should be playing! They can be hits, misses or even ditties that your local spandex-wearing bar band managed to get played on your highly influential local rock station(being an AOR collector, I can tell you that some of those local bands should have hit the big time!)!

Awfully Awesome 80's is a listener-supported station that's on 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If you're a first-time listener, then be aware that what AA80's strives to do is to bring back what an hour of MTV used to be like: dominated by top 40 hits and recurrents with only a couple of "curves" thrown in. I'll never be as successful as 80's MTV was because they had all kinds of corporate backing. I'm not out to rule the world anyways; I'm fine with a small, loyal audience who keeps the station going and who knows that the 80's had a LOT more to offer than just "Don't Stop Believin'" and "Money For Nothing." Unlike MTV, you can count on my never branching out to reality/talk shows and you will get a lot longer than 2 to 4 weeks to become familiar with some of the "curves"/bottom 45's that I play(and hopefully you will dig some of them!).
