Thanks for stopping by! Awfully Awesome 80's is your 24/7 listener-supported internet radio guide to the 1980's and early 1990's(primarily the tunes that kept the 80's spirit alive!). We play the classic top 40 hits and the lost hits, but we also place a heavy emphasis on the minor charters and non-charters...or as we call them, bottom 45's. If you were a fan of obscure MTV artists, then you have come to the right place! Special shows will be announced as time permits. If you have a request or a suggestion or just want to say hi, then please use our chat widget in the lower right corner. There is also a song request form below on the right sidebar.

If you appreciate what we do, then please make use of our PayPal buttons on the site. You can donate a one-time amount or choose from 10 monthly subscription amounts; the donations will help enhance our programming and keep us on respected broadcasting platforms like Mixcloud and Live365.

Please feel free to ask how you can reserve a 2, 4, 6 or 8 hour block with a playlist of your favorites! Hardly anyone else is willing to offer this service!

The transition to Live 365 is complete as of January 15, 2020. Please show your support! For a donation of $5.00 a month(cheaper than Spotify, SiriusXM, and the cost of your monthly beverages), you will get the below perks. If you think that I'm doing a stellar job, then feel free to donate more. But just remember that this is a legitimate station and it does have monthly expenses to meet; I am also very passionate and serious about the music I program!

Unlimited listening

5 requests per day(80's-early 90's charting or non-charting singles only)

Ban a specific song from the rotation for 1 month

Your own 2 hour theme block every other month(all AOR hits, all new wave, all college rock, etc.)

Thank you in advance for your contribution!

WHAT WILL IT TAKE TO CONVINCE YOU TO BE A "DEVOTEE?"

I'm now on Live 365 and everything seems to be running well. I don't want this to be a hobby anymore, but I'm at a loss for how I can prove to everyone(not just 2 to 4 loyal devotees) that I am serious about the music I program and that I want to make this station as satisfying a listen as possible. So this is my question to you:

What will it take for you to help raise the "temperature" on my webpage's monthly thermometer goal?

I will admit that I was a bit lax during February. Unfortunately, my other life...a customer service representative...has had a lot of uncertainties during the past few weeks. It's sort of a government job, but not really as I work for a contractor. There is no set-for-life salary or luxurious, fully-paid-for benefits packages like it was 20 or so years ago. For the second time in 14 months, my co-workers and I are bracing for a new contractor. Health insurance costs are much more with this new contractor and somewhere down the road, we will probably be facing production quotas and mandatory overtime. The mandatory overtime will force me out the door. So lately I have been uploading onboarding documents, accepting offer letters, waiting to vote on the contract ratification, waiting to roll over my 401K, etc. Not to mention being bummed that my spouse can't be part of my benefits package due to the high cost! So naturally, these events took precedence over the station.

March is a long month, and I am looking forward to delivering the Featured Artist Of The Month and a couple of other things. But I know some of you are thinking "We have so many other listening choices out there...you're not compelling enough...I've heard these songs many times before, etc." Let's talk! What would you like? How can I make you a "devotee?" Possible suggestions:

- Do you want more hits?
- Do you want more non top 40 charters and rarities?
- Do you want a bigger variety of jingles and more vintage commercials?
- Do you want me to speak more and be your trivia-filled DJ?
- Do you want a weekend theme night?
- Do you want to be able to request flip sides and album tracks?
- Would you like the opportunity to buy records and CDs from me?
- Would you like to have the auto-queue request feature back(wait time still applies)?
- Do you want me to have a couple more really specialized stations?
- Do I need to be more interactive with the Facebook group?

Think about it and let me know your thoughts through the chat widget in the lower right corner of this webpage. I can't please everyone...I get that. But I promise to keep trying. For example, I am starting to remix some of the older tracks in my library for a better listening experience. So if you see some familiar titles in my upcoming "New Adds" lists, then you will know why. Thank you for being a listener and/or supporter and for hearing me out.
