DJ Gilbert Matthews welcomes you to "Awfully Awesome 80's," a 24/7 internet radio station whose main goal is to play every tune that appeared on MTV's playlist between August of 1981 and December of 1989! As of February 1, 2019, the rotation will be expanded to include hits and misses from the late 70's and early to mid 90's that had connections to 80's artists! We will also include lost and classic top 40 hits from the entire decade as well as tunes that aired on MTV's specialized shows such as "Headbanger's Ball," "120 Minutes," "The Basement Tapes," etc. 80's tunes that never had videos or that only aired on non-MTV outlets such as WTBS Night Tracks, VH-1, BET, HBO Video Jukebox, etc. will also be eligible! Every hour, you will hear either 3 or 4 80's "Bottom 45's," which means tunes that peaked south of the top 40, tunes that didn't chart at all, or tunes that only charted in Canada, the UK or Australia. When it comes to "Awfully Awesome 80's," too much 80's is definitely never enough!

25. Frozen Ghost - Should I See - '87
26. Frozen Ghost - Round And Round - '88
27. Frozen Ghost - Step By Step - '88

Why the love for Frozen Ghost? Dale, who runs the "I Want My MTV" Facebook group, is a fan of the Six Million Dollar Man/Bionic Woman series and movies, and #27 was in the '89 "Bionic Showdown" movie(it featured Sandra Bullock in one of her first on-screen roles, as a cyborg). He requested it and he occasionally promotes my station in his group, so it's the least I can do; I also figured it would be a good time to throw in the group's 2 best-known U.S. tracks.

Tune into the station at http://awfullyawesomeeighties.com, join in our chat room, and look for the link to our Facebook group while you're there! You can also find us on Tunein.com, Nobex Radio(free apps for Google Play, Itunes and Blackberry), Reciva Radio, etc.

The hits and misses will keep on coming! Heck, this weekend I may get a bit dopey and add some long-forgotten tracks from Commander Cody, The Slickee Boys, The Finders and Joe "King" Carrasco!
